Brown vs. Board of Education
The Brown vs Board of Education was a famous court case that ended segregation in public schools. This decision also overturned the Plessy vs Ferguson case. On May 17, 1954 the Warrens court unanimously decided that it was unconstitutional. Many white southerns did not like this decision and became angry. They did everything in their power to overturn this decision, but it did not work. This was a very important part in the Civil Rights movement. It was a great achievement for African Americans and was one step closer to racial equality. This was one of the greatest court cases in U.S. history.
