Malcolm X
Malcolm X had a very important role in the Civil Rights Movements. He was a very inspirational speaker. He learned to be such a powerful speaker while he was in jail. In the beggining of the civil rights movement Malcolm X actually went against and publicly spoke out against MLK's philosophy. Malcolm was a member of the Black Muslim society and was not allowed to have freedom of speech. When Malcolm spoke about the JFk assassination, Malcolm was silenced. He decided to leave the Black Muslims and formed a whole new philoshophy about the civil rights. He was then more supportive of MLK. He spoke all about his views on the civil rights and regretfully he spoke bad about his former Black Islam members and on February 21, 1965, he was shot down by assassins as he spoke at the Audubon Ballroom in Harlem. He was thirty-nine years old.
Malcolm X was truly an inspirational man. Not only in that time period but even now. He did so much for the black community. It's hard to tell if the Civil Rights Movement would have been so affective or even a success if Malcolm hadn't of had such a large role in the whole thing. He did what he felt was right and what he had to do and he always spoke his mind after he left the Black Muslims.
