Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the main and most important leaders of the Civil rights movement. He was a man who believed in non-violence by studying the teachings of Gandhi and Jesus. He was a very peaceful man. King was also the leader of the southern christian leadership conference. On August 28, 1963, King led the March on Washington. He gave his famous I have a Dream speech. His speech was 17 minutes long. His dream was for all men and women, white and black, to live together equally.
King's speech was one of the most famous speeches in American history. King wanted all of the racial hatred and prejudice to end and he believed that in time it would.
