Letters From Birmingham Jail
Martin Luther King was put in jail for his part in the Birmingham campaign. It was a non violent protest. Kings letter was a response to a statement made by eight white Alabama clergymen on April 12, 1963. He also addressed that the civil rights movement was an extreme and serious movement.
