CORE
CORE was founded in Chicago in 1942 by James Farmer , George Houser. CORE stands for Congress of Racial Equality. CORE was created to protest segregation and to promote national equality. They organized sit- ins and public protests. Many African Americans joined this organization and participated in their influential events.
