Rosa Parks
Rosa Parks played an important role in the civil rights movements by refusing to give up her seat to a white man on a public bus. She became an international icon of resistance to racial segregation. She was arrested for this act. When she was let out she became an important icon for all African Americans to stand up and fight for their civil rights.
