In 1967 there were riots that erupted in Newark and Detroit. sThe causes of the riots was political exclusion, unemployment, poverty, and bad housing. Over a thousand were injured and about 70 died. Over 7,000 were arrested. Crowds of angry African Americans went ramped in the streets and rioted. It was a bad scene to see and be in.
